Dogs' Day of Summer

The Portland Mercury and Lucky Labrador Brewing have teamed up to unleash another family-friendly, tail-wagging fundraiser: Dogs' Day of Summer. Free to attend! Wiener or Pug $15 race registration.

The day will feature two round robin dog racing tournaments, affectionately named, Wiener Takes All, and, Pug O' War, along with an informal pet/owner (photo-booth) Look-a-Like contest, encouraged for all dogs and their human sponsors. The races will benefit the Oregon Dachshund Rescue and the Pacific Pug Rescue, respectively.

Wiener Takes All will pit Portland-area Dachshunds against one another in 6 dog heats, to determine which Wiener tops them ALL. Similarly, the Pug O' War stands to vet out these sturdy wrinkle faced canines against one another in a not-so-fierce feet of the will.

Lastly, we're bringin in our friends from Oregon Photobooth Rental to host an informal Pet/Owner Look-a-Like contest! Matching outfits? Sure! Similar maneurisms? Yes, please! Matching eyes or facial structure? EVEN BETTER! 

During the races, there will be vendors open for business on SE 9th Street, along with hot dogs, cold beer and a few more surprises!

3:00pm - Wiener Takes All — Pack 3
4:30pm - POW race registration/checkin
5:00pm - Pug O' War — Pack 1
5:30pm - Pug O' War — Pack 2
6:00pm - Pug O' War — Pack 3
6:30pm - Commencement ceremony | photobooth closes
