Dan Sutherland and Noah Bernstein both seem to still be making music together, albeit from separate corners of the country. The sax/drums/sampler duo, known in Portland and beyond as GRAMMIES, have made it a habit of saying goodbye to one another, only to pick up where they left off months or years later. Tonight will be, let's call it, the Third Annual Farewell Show, joining the ranks of Jay-Z and Phish for just not being able to give it up. And like a twisted mashup of the two, GRAMMIES plays jam band music for beat heads, or something like that. They're returning to the stage for one night only with a new set of "music" and some old "songs" from their instant classic albums AWARD WINNING and GREAT SOUNDING. They missed you too, Portland.
