Kelli Schaefer, Iska Dhaaf, Arlo Indigo

Mirroring the expansive noise and incisive shadow of PJ Harvey, with the fearless abandon of Nick Cave and vocal play of Bjork, Schaefer travels at light speed through the American landscape so many left and forgot to examine. It's art-pop with depth and vision, the product of an artist who not only carved out a space for herself but has grown into a voice with the potential to shape a landscape.
Iska Dhaaf (taken from Somali, translated roughly to “let it go”)
Inspired by Sufipoetry, limitation, andan obsessive preoccupation with writing, Nathan Quiroga and Benjamin Verdoes have fused their seemingly disparate musical and personal backgrounds into something searching and honest. Their songs, with heavy rhythms and cutting melodic hooks, are at once infectious and sweetly disarming.
Arlo Indigo is songs written by Jeremiah Brunnhoelzl and realized by Carl LaRue, Ramon Bieri, and Aaron Stern. ‘Arlo’ is a homage to one of Jeremiah’s childhood bandmates that started a John Lennon cult after they lost touch with each other and ‘Indigo’ is the color Jeremiah imagined in his mind when writing the first batch of songs for the then new project. The music combines guitar rock energy with synthesizer soundscapes that the group has affectionately tagged as ‘Thrill-Chill’.
