Evan Way was born in San Bruno, California in December 1983. A child of the west coast, he has lived all over California and Oregon in his 34 years. In 2003, while in college, he started the band The Parson Red Heads with Sam Fowles and Brette Marie Gentry. Over the past 14 years they have released 4 full length records and countless EPs full of folk-rock, Americana, power-pop, and psychedelia.

Over the past 10 years Evan has also begun playing live under his own name, refining a catalog of solo material that pulls influence from Neil Young, Red House Painters, Scott Walker, and Damien Jurado. Just this year he began recording these songs, with the hopes of releasing his first full solo album in 2018.

NASSAU

Nassau is the collaborative recording project from Brooklyn-based songwriters Justin Wilcox and Jeffrey Silverstein. Both seeking new creative outlets following respective projects in Baltimore and Chattanooga, the duo formed in late 2015 out of a mutual respect for raw, honest music. Sitting on a handful of riffs and half-songs, material would soon actualize for Hoss (2016), their debut EP of tranquil ambient/folk for Fire Talk Records.

Heron, the group’s first proper LP, sees the duo hitting their stride. Recorded, mixed, and produced by Wilcox at his home studio in South Williamsburg, the album explores new territory both sonically and thematically. Taking a far more deliberate and careful approach to writing, the album centers on the concept of change and balance- the Heron often representing an ability to progress and evolve in folklore. A warm, full-bodied sound envelopes each track giving breathing room for interweaving guitar lines, meditative rhythms and Wilcox’s gentle vocal delivery. Relying only on guitars, drum machines, and synth, the duo capitalizes on using ambient textures as a base layer for each of these 8 beautiful tracks. Heron will be released September 8th on Fire Talk Records.

W.C. BECK
https://wcbeck.bandcamp.com/
W.C. Beck is an itinerant singer/songwriter from KS who now calls New York home after long stints in Portland, OR and Paris, France. Beck’s songs span from indie folk to classic country and tell of the American heartland and a forgotten epoch. With catchy melodies and sophisticated compositions, most songs find their depth in the personal, moving narrative.
