Portland Beer Week and the Caputo Group present the 2018 beer week seminar series.
With the rise of Contract Brewing and Gypsy brewers and a new way to share a brewhouse called Alternating Proprietorship, it's time for Portland Beer Week to explore this little talked about subject in the annual seminar series. This casual discussion featuring a panel of brewery owners and experts who brew their beer at others brewhouses or host such beers. This new way of opening a brewery does not require you to have a space and your own equipment and thus is far less of an investment.
Our panel of Contract/Gypsy Brewing experts:
Alan Taylor - Owner/Brewer at Zoiglhaus Brewery
Taylor and his Zoiglhaus Brewery has become a frequent home for contract brewers to produce their brands at. Zoiglhaus and Taylor have produced beers for Pono Brewing, Ferment, Wayfinder and many more.
Larry Clouser - Pono Brewing
A successful Portland-area brewer without their own brewhouse who contract brews and self-distributes their popular beers.
Tobias Hahn - Rosenstadt Brewery
One half of the popular German-style but Portland-area based Rosenstadt Brewery who has produces their brews at multiple Oregon breweries while distributing and selling their beers without their own space.
