Strappados, TKs, and Tengu Ties are both beautiful and restrictive. All of them have distinct neuro-anatomy considerations to factor in when tying them. Come learn to tie them with confidence with Jonathan & Sappho!

In this three-hour workshop, we'll:

  • Take a detailed look at these 3 ties, focusing on various arm positions, precise rope placement and tension, & several types of frictions.
  • Discuss and demonstrate various potential neuro-anatomy issues with each tie, associated safety issues, and suggestions for mitigating them.
  • Learn tips & tricks for tying fluidly & with connection.
  • Look at some of the possibilities around 'using up' the remaining rope in decorative ways (kazari).

Prerequisite: This will be a fast-paced and detail-oriented class. You should come to this course able to tie single column ties, hojo cuffs, and basic ties such as chest harnesses in a timely and accurate fashion.

To ensure personal attention to each participant, class size will be limited to 8 tying pairs. Due to the small class size, early registration is strongly recommended. All sexes, genders, ethnicities, sexual orientations and identifications are most welcome!

Clothing & Equipment: please bring 3-4 25'-30' pieces of bondage rope, 5-6mm in diameter, and a blanket or yoga mat to sit & tie on. You should wear clothing comfortable to tie in.

Hemp or Jute rope is recommended. Its also helpful to have some shorter lengths of rope in your kit.

Need Rope? We have high-quality jute bondage rope kits available for sale that can be delivered to you at start of the workshop. Please contact us for details.
