BAD DATES is a live talk show where authors, Eden Dawn and Ashod Simonian, interview well known Portlanders about their cringiest (and most entertaining) dating experiences gone awry.
This pair knows all about dates. To coauthor the PNBA bestselling Portland Book of Dates, the married duo went on hundreds of dates to find the best to include in the cheeky guidebook. In between guests, BACKFENCE PDX host/producer Frayn Masters will read selected stories from the audience.

Sarah Versprille and Dan Hindman — the duo behind Pure Bathing Culture @purebathingcult! They have four incredible albums for you to start streaming this second! They’ve provided the backing band for Vetiver and the legendary Richard Swift as well as toured the world with the likes of Father John Misty, Death Cab for Cutie and The Shins! Besides making dreamy indie pop, they’re also an IRL couple!
Holcombe Waller: Holcombe (@holcombewaller) has been dubbed “one of America’s most unique voices in music theater” by fancy folks! He performs his stunning pieces at symphonies and performing arts centers around the globe! He is a restaurateur and hotelier at The Klondike which has brought drag shows to St. Helens, Oregon!
Viridiana Cervantes: And filling out our attractive line-up we have hairstylist extraordinaire Viridiana Cervantes @juan_der_woman! Viri is a ray of sunshine! A karaoke queen! And (controversial statement in our family) rocks a leopard print like no other! Book your next color or cut with her @vacationclubpdx!
