This festival can't stop and we prove it with...
Colette Gregory (Chicago): This piece, BLACK BEST FRIEND (BBF), was first presented in April 2024 at the People’s Improv Theater’s SOLOCOM festival in New York. This 20 minute version received the festival's first and only standing ovation. After that, the show further developed, and in August 2024 debuted as a revamped 30 minute version at the Pack Hollywood Comedy Festival in Los Angeles, where it was awarded “Favorite Sketch or Variety Performance by a Group or Individual” by the fest's jury. In June 2025 a fully-realized 60 minute version of the show was performed for three nights at Steppenwolf 's 1700 Theater in Chicago. This production was remounted by popular demand later that same month at the Revival Theater Chicago.
Spoucho (Columbus): is a three-person sketch group from Columbus, Ohio. They are forever bonded by their love of basketball despite having never played the game and barely understanding the rules. One thing they do understand is sketch comedy. Spoucho seamlessly blends their sharp wit with silly characters to create a sketch show that satisfactorily ties everything together by the end of the show in a cute, thematic bow. When these all-stars hit the stage, they'll break comedy ankles and you'll be calling a time-out...so you can catch your breath! And guess what? Not laughing is a foul because every sketch is a slam dunk!
